The purpose of the Lemhi Regional Land Trust is to assist in the conservation of ranchland, environmental resources, and wildlife habitat in central Idaho.  Our main function is to provide incentives and options for property owners of ranchland to preseve their agricultural lifestyles.

Welcome to the Lemhi Regional Land Trust
The Lemhi Regional Land Trust recently sponsored a picnic where board members were both educating community members on the benefits of Conservation Easements to ranchland owners in the Lemhi Valley and reporting current progress on projects throughout the valley.
Join us for our next event.
Our Mission: Landowners formed Lemhi Regional Land Trust
In order to generate and provide supportive funds and resources for the preservation of land and natural resources, and in particular, central Idaho ranchlands and agricultural land.  As a community based, grassroots, non-profit organization, our primary goal is to maintain stewardship opportunities for landowners that allow them to conserve the land’s agricultural, natural, and cultural resources.

Our priorities include:
Offering options and tools for interested ranchers and their future generations to stay on their land.
Keeping intact the many wildlife sanctuaries and critical habitats found on ranches
Valuing the freedom of private property rights
Encouraging local food production
Preserving the rich traditional lifestyles and landscape of our valley home

Our concern is for the Future.  Regarding the rapid conversion of agricultural land to subdivisions and ranchette uses in Lemhi County,  Board Member Mike Overacker remarked:  “We’re growing houses instead of crops!”
